What this covers

This policy covers theknownapp.io, the website you are reading now, and the waitlist you can join here. The Known app itself is still on its way. Before it opens, we will update this policy to cover it too.

What you give us

When you join the waitlist, we ask for:

• Your name and email address.
• Whether you are joining as an individual or for an organization, and if it is an organization, its name and rough size if you choose to share them.
• How you heard about us, if you feel like telling us.

We also note the internet (IP) address a signup comes from and keep it with your signup. We use it only to slow down spam and abuse of the form, never to profile you.

What we notice on our own

We use a cookieless, first-party analytics service to understand how people find and read this site. There are no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers. It records pageviews, the page you came from, and coarse details like browser type and country. When someone joins the waitlist, it counts the signup and whether it came from an individual or an organization, and nothing else. Your name and email never go into analytics.

How we use it

• To confirm your spot with a welcome email and to reach you when The Known opens.
• To understand which pages resonate, so the site gets better.
• To keep the signup form safe from spam.

That is the whole list.

Who helps us

A few services process data on our behalf so this site can run:

• A hosting provider runs the site and provides the analytics described above.
• A managed database stores waitlist signups.
• An email delivery service handles your name and email address when we write to you.
• Our private team chat gets a heads-up when someone joins. That note carries your name, any organization details, and your answer to how you heard about us if you gave one, but never your email address.

Each of these handles your information to do that one job for us, and nothing more.

What we never do

• We never sell your information.
• We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not run ad trackers or third-party advertising cookies on this site.

How we keep it safe

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your choices

The waitlist is yours to leave. Email hello@theknownapp.io any time to update your details or ask us to remove you, and we will.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details while we build toward launch, so we can reach you when it is time. If you ask us to remove you, we delete your signup.

Children

This site and the waitlist are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

When this changes

If we change what we collect or who helps us, we will update this page and the date at the top.
